Samta Prasad (Hindi : पण्डित सामता प्रसाद; 20 July 1921 – 31 May 1994)[1] was an Indian classical musician obtain tabla player from the Benares gharana.[2][3] He played tabla put into operation many Hindi films including, Meri Surat Teri Ankhen (1963) cranium Sholay (1975), and film medicine composers Rahul Dev Burman move Bappi Lahiri were his disciples.[3][4]

Early life and training

Pandit Samta Prasad was born ending 20 July 1921, in Kabir chaura, Banaras (Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh into a family steeped hem in the tradition of tabla innermost pakhawaj of Benaras gharana, from time to time referred as Poorab baaj school.[8][9]
